LAUREN’S FIRST AND GOAL FOUNDATION VYING FOR $100,000

EASTON, PA (March 4, 2010) – Lauren’s First and Goal Foundation, a 501(c)3 charity that benefits pediatric cancer patients, has a chance to win up to $100,000 from the Gildan Genuine Stewardship program, but is asking for your help to make that happen.

Here’s how it works. The Gildan Genuine Stewardship program will donate a percentage of its Ultra Cotton t-shirt sales to a registered charity. The winning charity is determined based on the number of supporters and the ratings of stories that describe the charity’s mission.

Created by John and Marianne Loose in honor of their 13-year-old daughter Lauren, Lauren’s First and Goal Foundation provides financial support for brain tumor research and cancer services, offers financial and emotional support to families living with pediatric cancer, and increases awareness of the disease. Since 2004, the foundation has donated nearly $700,000 toward the fight against pediatric brain tumors and cancer.

If you support the foundation’s mission, help Lauren’s First and Goal by visiting www.genuinegildan.com and selecting Lauren’s First and Goal as your charity. You can then share your thoughts on how the foundation is making a genuine positive impact on the world. Once you’ve registered your support, view other people’s stories and "like" the ones you think best demonstrate genuine stewardship.

A list of ten finalist charities will be announced this spring. A panel of qualified judges will review the ten finalist charities and will determine a single recipient based on quality of submissions and the alignment of their work with the principles of Gildan Genuine Stewardship. The recipient will be revealed in late summer 2010.
